My ideal holiday look? Not a sparkly dress, that's for sure. It would definitely be something close to this look. I found this amazing metallic tweed vest at the Alice and Olivia shop in Bloomingdale's - it was screaming my name! The coppery shine projects a warm tone that makes it the perfect winter glam piece. Although unavailable online, you can shop a similar style, the A+O Kellen jacket, here.

My best friend Eamonn Wright was recently featured in a video by Bill Cunningham reporting on August fashion on the streets of New York. Cunningham is fascinated with the "new generation of young men" these days who are dressing the way they really want. He addresses how this revolution in menswear involves breaking out of the confining standards conventionally controlled by manufacturers, and experimenting with different elements of dress. Look for Eamonn's shot at 0:33 in the video below. He updates the classic plaid button down by choosing a slim fit and creates a v-neckline by leaving the top buttons undone. Although all he is wearing is a simple button down, jeans, and loafers, the way he decides to pair these elements together makes this outfit as a whole much more than just simple (Shirt, H&M ; Jeans, Levi's ; Shoes, ASOS ; Belt, Vintage). By the way, Eamonn has a wonderful fashion and lifestyle blog of his own, The Ensembler, so make sure to check it out here.
