Graffiti Art

If you live in Ann Arbor, it's almost impossible not to find yourself wandering into what's known as the Graffiti alley. I admit I've only paid a few visits there. So it was time to return to the graffiti-plastered alleyway. The colors are incredible! And for a moment, when you ground yourself in the middle of the alley and look around, you get lost in the beauty of this and forget where you are.

A Portrait Apart

It's quite fascinating how you meet people in the most unexpected places at the most unexpected times. This summer I asked a nice man on the street to snap a picture of my friend, Julie, and I in front of a University of Michigan spinning cube look-a-like. We chatted a bit with the man and a few moments after his friend showed up to meet with him. One thing turned into another and before we knew it his friend, a lovely woman named Stephany, invited us to the gallery opening of Porter Contemporary, where she works as an assistant. I took my friend Mo with me to the opening. There were some fabulous pieces within the gallery - an acrylic painting of a turning face by Jeff Huntington was a favorite of mine.
