I have to say, leather is an especially great touch for the spring and summer seasons. A heavier material, yet it adds the perfect level of warmth for the cool breeze. It gives off a very sleek touch, and it is versatile in that it can be used to add the perfect amount of edge to an outfit, or to polish up a rather refined look. I've seen lot of leather pieces here and there from the S/S 2011 shows, and I really like how designers such as Altuzarra and Ann Demeulemeester have artistfully transformed mere leather into beautifully-crafted dresses. Or, let's take Decarnin who paired simple cotton tees with edgy, cropped, leather trousers, embellished with detailed studding and zippering, on the runway at Balmain. We can also turn to Celine, who featured colorful separates that still gave a soft, neutral vibe. Choosing a leather piece in neutral or a warmer shade on the color wheel (black, tan, camel) is best and will serve as an essential piece to your wardrobe for every season.
